Gorge Suites

• The lovely Gorge area invites long walks along manicured waterways stretching from Helmcken through the Selkirk Waterway and on to the Inner Harbour. Cross the Tilicum bridge to explore the more rustic parkland that stretches along the water, or stroll to Craigflower Manor for a glimpse of Victoria’s Hudson Bay Company past. The Gorge is convenient to the city, yet a world away.

  Our Gorge Suites include an updated 1940s character suite with coved ceilings, gas fireplace, deck and a bright outlook over the gardens. This is a very pleasant home that reflects the best of the period, enhanced with a modern kitchen, bath and dining area. In typical Garden Oaks Fine Accommodation style, we have replicated character moldings even as the arched doorways are enlarged for a more modern, spacious feel that retains the character of the original.

Mt. Stephen's Rise
• This very convenient, centrally located but little known rise includes a mix of heritage and modern homes spread through what was once a grove of Gary Oak trees. Residents appreciate the quiet environment, rustling of Gary Oak leaves and pleasant walks in a neighbourhood that seems a world apart but is just 15 minutes to both the city centre or the University of Victoria. Our Mt. Stephen’s Rise locations are within walking distance to several bus routes and access to Victoria’s bike paths.

  We offer two detached homes, one 2 bedroom and one 4 bedroom as well as suites, one 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom. All units have new or newer appliances including dishwashers and built-in microwaves. Most have in-suite, European style washer/dryers.

• Back by popular demand! It was gratifying to find that interest in the 3 bedroom Oak Suite and 1 bedroom Pine Suite, both of which seem to have gained something of a local reputation, continued after we sold these properties. Ask about availability.

Suites on King's Ridge
• Olympic View Suite

  Spectacular 360 degree views, 2100 square feet, an updated character feel including a stone fireplace with electric fire. This suite opens on to the Main Hall of a 1914 Manse and occupies two levels, providing a 3 bedroom aerie with southern views over the city toward the Olympic Mountains and the Straits of Juan de Fuca. In the living room, French doors open onto a south facing deck to add another 300 square feet of outdoor living space. The rent includes hydro/water.

  This 1200 square foot, 2 bedroom, one bath suite offers an in-suite laundry, Corian-countered kitchen with north facing dining area, opening on to a private porch overlooking the English country garden. The large living room enjoys views to the south toward the Olympic Mountains.

• Parlour Suite

  This large character apartment with stained glass windows in the south facing living room and main bedroom enjoys a 360 degree exposure. It opens off the Main Hall of the Manse and sits one floor above the ground, occupying the entire main floor of this classic late-Edwardian residence.

• Garden Suite

  This spacious one bedroom flat is 900 square feet created from former staff quarters of a period mansion–they never had it so good! Bright, above ground character includes separate living and dining rooms, a king-sized bedroom, in-suite laundry with European style appliances and fully equipped kitchen.

  It’s a unique character apartment opening onto an English garden with patio area. This suite has a storybook feel that is spacious and cozy at the same time with light spilling across rooms. Your rent includes hydro and water.

  Please note: some of the character of this suite comes from its built-in features. Therefore, it is ideal for those on term assignments or who wish a partially furnished suite to reduce start-up costs in Victoria. There is a king-sized bed platform and top quality mattress provided, a large walk-in closet, and built-in shelving and sofa in the living room.

  Cleaning services and additional furnishings may be coordinated to provide a fully serviced suite at a special rate.
